We've received some great feedback on this process and have plans to streamline it and simplify in the near future.
Buyers now have the ability to request shipping directly in the K-BID platform. If an item is classified as shippable (or all items on a given invoice), winning bidders will be asked if they would like to ship the item or pick up during the auction removal.
The shipping terms will be prominently displayed in a drop down so they can review prior to making their selection. We advise detailing what a buyer can expect for shipping in regards to pricing, carriers used, communication preferred, insurance information, and estimated time for shipping.
When an invoice is eligible for shipping, and a buyer has not selected how they will be retrieving their items. The invoice will remain in an Open- Check Shipping status, this means we are awaiting on the buyer to confirm their intention to pick up in person or if they need shipping.
Once they've requested shipping. A Needs Shipping notice will appear. In the example above, the buyer has not paid yet. The invoice will remain Open, until payment has been made and it will update accordingly.
If they are choosing to pick up at the auction location, the status will update to Open - Pay Onsite.
On top of the invoice list, affiliates can view how many have requested shipping and download a CSV of those bidders that have. This information can be helpful to import into 3rd party shipping applications.
