Three Easy Things

Here are three things you can do today to bring your expertise in the Auction industry to the next level.

First - Join an association.

           

Being part of an association gives you a voice in your industry and connects you with other professionals doing the same thing you are. Minnesota has a fantastic association that would be perfect for most of you. Associations provide you with great training opportunities, access to professionals and speakers, and they even lobby on behalf of our industry to ensure it stays on the right side of the law. Second - Chat with those that know.

There is a term in the Auction Industry: "AHA" - Auctioneers Helping Auctioneers. Despite being competitors, professionals in the auction industry tend to help each other out very very well. One way is through the Auctioneer's Facebook Group. You can get some bad apples in there from time to time, but the majority of the people in there are very helpful. Check it out. (You will need to be approved in order to join, but it's generally a quick process.)

Third - Read/Listen to those that know.

Blogs and podcasts are great ways to increase your knowledge on your time. Here are some of my favorites:
