We released a new Bidder Analysis Tool to help you identify and reduce potential risk.
On the List Invoices page, you will now see system-generated flags. Below is a breakdown of what each flag means. (Hover over for more detail):
New Bidder
The bidder registered on the platform within the last 6 months.
First Invoice
This is the bidder’s very first invoice on K-BID.
Higher-Risk Asset Category
The invoice includes items in categories that are more susceptible to fraud, including:
Jewelry
Electronics
Coins
Gold & Silver
Verified Credit Card
This bidder has a successful credit card payment on the platform that is more than 30 days old.
If the card used had been questionable, it is likely an issue would have been identified and the bidder removed from the system within that timeframe.
How other flags are determined
Paid Invoice Count
1 Invoice = First Invoice
2–5 Invoices = New Buyer
More than 5 Invoices = No flag
Account Age
Accounts created within the last 12 months are flagged as New Account
Hover over the flag to see exactly how new the account is
Credit Card Payment History
Credit card payment more than 30 days ago = Verified CC
Credit card payment within the chargeback window (< 30 days) = Recent CC
Our system evaluates a wide range of data points from a bidder’s history each time an invoice is generated and presents relevant information to help you make informed decisions.
Important:
These flags are not all-inclusive, and the absence of a flag does not guarantee a risk-free transaction. They are intended to provide additional insight, not replace good judgment.
You can hover over any flag to see more detail.
This tool can also be used for positive engagement - if you see a bidder’s very first invoice, consider reaching out to guide them through the process and create a strong first experience on K-BID.
