Purpose
K-BID permits and encourages affiliates to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist with lot description writing and limited image enhancement. These tools may improve efficiency and clarity, but they do not transfer responsibility.
Affiliates remain fully accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and representation of all auction listings.
Trust and transparency are foundational to the K-BID marketplace. This policy establishes clear expectations to protect buyers, affiliates, and the platform.
1. Responsibility for Descriptions (Non-Transferable)
Affiliates are fully responsible for the accuracy of all lot titles and descriptions, regardless of whether AI tools were used.
AI-generated content is treated the same as affiliate-written content.
Affiliates must review, verify, and correct all AI output before publishing.
Statements regarding material, condition, functionality, origin, quantity, or authenticity must be factual and supportable.
Use of AI does not excuse inaccuracies, omissions, or misleading statements.
2. Acceptable Use of AI for Descriptions
AI tools may be used to:
Improve grammar, clarity, and readability
Standardize formatting
Assist with summarizing known, verified facts
AI tools may not be used to:
Guess or infer materials, condition, or specifications
Add claims not directly verified by the affiliate
Replace physical inspection or reasonable due diligence
When in doubt, affiliates should describe only what is known and observable.
3. Use of AI-Enhanced Images
Affiliates may use AI tools for limited image enhancement, including:
Brightness, contrast, or color correction
Background cleanup that does not alter the item itself
Affiliates may not use AI in a way that:
Alters, fabricates, or improves the physical condition of an item
Adds details, textures, or features not present on the actual item
Makes an item appear newer, higher quality, or materially different than reality
4. Risk of Overselling and Buyer Remedies
AI-enhanced imagery carries an inherent risk of overselling an item.
If a buyer can reasonably demonstrate that:
An AI-enhanced image materially misrepresented the item, and
The actual item does not match the visual representation,
K-BID may determine that:
The listing was inaccurate, and
A refund or other buyer remedy is warranted
In such cases, the affiliate bears responsibility for the outcome.
5. Disclosure Does Not Remove Responsibility
Disclosing that AI was used:
Does not reduce affiliate responsibility
Does not override buyer protection standards
Does not negate inaccuracies
Accuracy always supersedes disclosure.
6. Enforcement
Failure to comply with this policy may result in:
Required listing corrections
Buyer refunds at the affiliate’s expense
Suspension or removal from the K-BID platform in cases of repeated or material misuse
K-BID reserves the right to review listings, images, and descriptions for compliance.
7. Guiding Principle
AI is a tool, not a shield.
Affiliates are expected to:
Represent items honestly
Avoid overstating condition or quality
Remember that buyer trust is more valuable than short-term performance
If an AI-generated description or image would cause a reasonable buyer to believe something that is not factually true, it should not be used.
