Marketing will always be a crucial aspect of online auctions, but it is not always easy to execute. It can be difficult to talk to a potential client about marketing without previous knowledge and the proper tools needed to produce results. K-BID has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on auction marketing and has been the backbone of our success. We have provided the following options in order to get your auction more exposure:
Front Page Banner Ad
A banner on the front page of K-BID.com com puts your auction front and center on the most visited page on the website. With more than 19,000 visitors each day, you can be sure that your auction will get the exposure it deserves!
Cost: $100 per week
Bidder Email Blast
K-BID keeps our massive bidder base engaged by staying in touch via weekly email blasts. This coveted marketing option reaches bidders who have already shown an interest or bought from K-BID.com. Keeping your auction top-of-mind and in front of those bidders is a tremendous way to reach people who have proven to be motivated buyers. The mailing lists boasts over 50,000+ active bidders who use this email to find featured auctions on K-BID.com and can drive hundreds of interested buyers to your auction!
Cost: $100 per send
Social Media/Targeted Facebook Campaign
Facebook has proven to be an incredibly effective way to drive potential buyers to an online auction. Social media has replaced newspapers as the go to place for information as many people check multiple times a day to receive news and stay in touch with family friends. K-BID has the experience and knowledge to target the correct audiences by interest, demographics and location to help increase bids on your auction by finding the right buyers.
See this page for a case study on the effectiveness of auction marketing and Facebook targeted campaigns.
Of course, there are a number of other options that can be utilized to promote a specific auction (print, radio, online, mailers). If a particular auction needs promotion beyond the scope of these options, do not hesitate to contact me (Chris.Schwartz@k-bidmail.com) to discuss some options.
TIP: Marketing budgets are a standard in the auction industry, depending on the situation and the auctioneer, it is not uncommon to pass these expenses to your seller.
See the attached document to share with your seller regarding these marketing options.
In order to take advantage of these marketing options, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:
- Campaign desired
- Auction name
- Auction ID
- Budget (See handout for pricing)
- Auction start and end date
- 5 Highlighted pictures to use in promotion (must be landscape oriented or sideways, portrait photos are difficult to deal with)
An invoice will be generated and sent to the affiliate once this information is received, upon payment we will begin working on the campaign. Please see the required lead times in the document above, campaigns will run on a first come first serve basis and are not guaranteed. Upon completion of the auction, you will be sent a breakdown of the campaign and the how many extra bidders we were able to drive to an auction. This is good information that you can share with your seller to show the results.
