60-day permits must be printed on permit stock. The permit paper is tear-resistant, water-resistant, abrasion-resistant and UV light resistant. Affiliates who use K-BID's dealer services will be provided with the permit paper.
To print on the new permit stock, affiliates must have the following at their auction removal:
- Laser printer – resolution 300 dpi; color is not required.
- Internet connection*
Since paper orientation varies from printer to printer, it is important to do a trial run, using a plain paper template (enclosed), BEFORE attempting to print a permit using the new permit paper. Only after determining how the permit paper needs to be positioned for it to print properly, should the special permit paper be used.
After the permit is printed, the buyer will separate the permit at the perforation. The top section must be displayed in the rear license plate bracket of the vehicle. The bottom section is the buyer’s temporary registration card and should be kept inside the vehicle for proof of ownership.
*Permits are time-sensitive (60 days) so they can’t be printed until the buyer arrives for the auction removal.
